The Role: 

The Head of Business Development will be pivotal in expanding our reach and influence across various sectors. This role requires a strategic thinker with a knack for building and nurturing relationships with potential business customers, technical partners, financial institutions, and affiliates. You will be responsible for identifying and pursuing new business opportunities, establishing strategic partnerships, and driving revenue growth. Your ability to excel in sales, manage success metrics, and foster meaningful relationships will be key to your success in this role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Partnerships: Identify and cultivate relationships with potential business customers, technical partners, and financial institutions. Develop and manage strategic partnerships that align with our company’s goals and drive growth.
  • Business Development: Create and implement business development strategies to acquire new clients and expand market presence. Explore and capitalize on opportunities to drive revenue through various channels, including direct sales, affiliate programs, and strategic alliances.
  • Sales Leadership: Oversee the sales process from lead generation to closing deals. Set sales targets, track performance, and ensure alignment with company objectives. Develop and implement strategies to meet or exceed revenue goals.
  • Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including partners, clients, and industry influencers. Foster long-term relationships that contribute to our company’s success and growth.
  • Success Metrics & Reporting: Define, track, and report on key performance indicators related to business development and sales. Use data to evaluate the effectiveness of strategies and make informed decisions to optimize performance.
  • Market Intelligence: Stay informed about industry trends, competitive landscape, and market opportunities. Use insights to drive strategic decisions and identify areas for growth and improvement.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams, including product, marketing, and customer success, to ensure alignment and drive cohesive strategies that support business development objectives.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: Minimum of 7 years of experience in business development, sales, or a related field, preferably within a technology or startup environment. Proven track record of successfully building and managing relationships and driving revenue growth.
  • Sales Expertise: Demonstrated success in developing and executing sales strategies. Strong ability to close deals and meet sales targets.
  • Relationship Building: Exceptional skills in building and maintaining relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders, including business clients, technical partners, and financial institutions.
  • Strategic Thinking: Ability to develop and implement strategic plans that align with company goals and drive business growth.
  • Analytical Skills: Proficiency in defining and tracking success metrics. Strong analytical skills to evaluate performance and make data-driven decisions.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication and negotiation skills. Ability to present and articulate ideas effectively to various audiences.
  • Adaptability: Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic startup environment. Flexible and innovative with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field; advanced degree or MBA is a plus.
